Player of the Week: Ichiro Suzuki
June 28th, 2009 | by nightmare |Seattle Mariners’ rightfielder, Ichiro Suzuki, wins the Mariners Dock Player of the Week with his outstanding performances against the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers. Ichiro not only hit safely in every game this week, but he also notched at least 2 hits in each contest. The Major League hit leader checked in with 13 knocks this week on his way to a .565 average. He also scored 7 runs for the Mariners while striking out only once.
The Mariners also recieved more news of the unhappy variety. Third baseman Adrian Beltre will undergo surgery again to remove bone spurs from his left shoulder. The Mariners say that Beltre decided Saturday to move forward with the surgery. He is expected to miss at least 6-8 weeks.
